Since the first time I was introduced to you you’ve welcomed me with open arms and treated me like one of your own. I never felt like an outsider in your home. I just wanted to take the time to tell the world how much I loved you and how much I appreciated you.

You and Mama Cuca did a great job with the wonderful woman you raised to be my wife. There is no doubt in my mind that Lupe and I were meant to be together since before the beginning of time. I could not have designed a more perfect companion if God had let me
do it myself.  Thank you for preparing her for me.

I was always impressed with you as a man and as a person: whether you were showing me how to shingle my roof how to fix something in my house or sharing scripture verses with me - I  never had a hard time looking up - even though I was taller. You had both firmness and gentleness in your character which is the mark of a true Father. Your love of scripture and prayer and willingness to boldly share with the world the treasures of the Word that God gave you was an example to me and to everybody of spiritual and moral leadership. Your spiritual protection has been a blessing to me. You had an evangelical fire in you that I always found inspiring.

I want to be more like you.

I've been out of town and just now learned of your loss. I met your dad briefly only once but I remember stories of him that you guys would sometimes share. What impressed me a lot was that even as a man in his 80s he was physically active.... working on cars doing home repairs etc. What impressed me the most was seeing firsthand by being close to two of his sons the great job he did as a father. I am confident that you made him very proud. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family my friends.

I wish I could talk with you one more time so you could make me laugh like you always did. I wish I could give you one more hug and one more kiss on your cheek. I wish you were able to be here with us forever but I know that is not how life works. What comforts me is knowing that you are in perfection right now with the Lord and that you are able to be reunited with your family again in Heaven. You were an amazing grandpa!! I learned so much from you. Our entire family has learned so much from you. Our family is so strong and close because of you Mama Grande & Jesus Christ. I stand back look at our family & realize there is not one person who does not know the Lord. You and Mama Grande have built that foundation for our family and I thank you so much for that! I can't imagine growing up in this world without having a relationship with Jesus Christ. When I look at my dad I think of you and that makes me smile. I am so glad that we had the opporunity to travel to Monterrey together. I will always rememeber that vacation.
